About Us

     The Wooden Toy opened it's doors in Rocky Hill, CT in 1989.  When we first opened, our main emphasis was towards mostly wooden toys.  However, our selection of toys increased as we grew into one of New England's largest specialty toy stores. We moved to our larger and current store in Wethersfield, CT in January, 2000. 

     Withover 10,000 different toys & books in our store, we have something for every child on your gift list.  Our sales staff have been with The Wooden Toy for a combined total of over 100 years.  Their expertise will help you find the perfect toy for your child on your shopping list.  They will also be happy to "wrap" your gift in one of our free and colorful gift bags, complete with tissue & ribbons.

      The Wooden Toy is conveniently located off Exit 24 Off I-91 in Wethersfield, CT, just minutes south of Hartford.  We are open seven days a week and have lots of free and convenient parking.

      We have several playtables for your children to play on while you shop, and a clean bathroom for our customers.  The Wooden Toy will be happy to ship your gifts to out of town friends & family.
